Connect shelfy.io to Google Play

This article describes how to connect shelfy.io to your Google Play Store.

Important Only account owners can perform this procedure.

Create and set up your app

After you've created your Google Play developer account, you can create apps and set them up using Google Play Console.

Create your app

  1. Open .

  2. Select All apps > Create app.

  3. Do not change the default language.

  4. Add the name of your app as you want it to appear on Google Play. You can change this later.

  5. In the App or game section, select App. You can change this later.

  6. In the Free or paid section, select Free.

  7. In the Declarations section:

    1. Acknowledge the ā€œDeveloper Program Policiesā€ and ā€œUS export lawsā€ declarations.

    2. Accept the Play App Signing Terms of Service.

  8. Select Create app.

  9. In the Dashboard, select the all apps menu item.

Connect Google Play Console to Google Cloud Service account

  1. In the Service accounts section, click Learn how to create service accounts.

  2. In the pop-up, click the link to Google Cloud Service Accounts.

  3. Click Create Service Account tab.

  4. Enter the service account details and click Create and Continue.

  5. In step 2, select Editor in the Select a role drop down.

  6. Click Continue, and then click Done.

  7. Return to your Play Console account, and click Done.

  8. Click Manage Play Console permissions.

  9. Go to the Account permissions tab, and check Admin (all permissions).

  10. Go to the first tab App permissions, and click Add app.

  11. Select your app from the list.

  12. Click Apply. A pop up message is displayed. When prompted click Apply. This enables you to invite users.

  13. Click Invite user.

  14. When prompted, click Send invite. The new user appears under Users and Permissions.

Set up your key type

  1. Go to the Keys tab.

  2. Click Add Key to generate a new key.

  3. Click Add Key to generate a new key.

  4. When prompted, choose JSON as the preferred key type, and click Create. A private key in JSON format is generated.

Important Store the key in a safe place. If the key is lost or compromised you will need to repeat this procedure again to generate a new key.

Upload the private key

  1. Go to shelfy.io > Version Manager.

  2. Upload the private key.

  3. Click the validate connection button.

Go to the page on the Google Play Console.
